Learning counseling
The objective of this service is to improve both the academic and personal conditions of students, recognizing their strengths and areas of improvement to cultivate the necessary skills that allow them to advance and graduate in the appropriate time.
Objectives
It is aimed at the academic accompaniment of students, especially those considered by the University as priority attention (students with disabilities, students with economic and social vulnerability and students at academic risk). The service seeks to strengthen the academic and personal conditions of the students, assessing their abilities and weaknesses to develop the necessary capacities for their promotion and timely graduation.
Target population
- Students with disabilities.
- Students with learning difficulties or special educational needs.
- Quota Policy Students.
- Students from the SENESCYT admission system.
- Scholarship students by socio-economic situation.
- Third enrollment students.
- Students at academic risk, referred for their careers, MiUDA, other agencies or who come voluntarily to request academic accompaniment.
Services
- Individualized attention and academic evaluation, to identify difficulties and achieve academic achievements.
- Follow-up of students from the priority groups of the university.
- Monitoring of students at academic risk: students who are in their third enrollment, or who have difficulties in learning the English language.
- Mediation between students and teachers in front of academic cases.
- Management of tutorials according to the needs found.
- Methodological, social and accessibility recommendations that allow teachers and students to improve the quality of teaching-learning and that favor inclusion.
- Vocational guidance for students who require it.
- Workshops for the development of learning skills: time organization, preparation for exams, study methodologies, etc.
